Superintendent's Corner

About Our District

Welcome to Hardin-Central C-2 School District. Over the years, our district has combined with several neighboring schools to form the district we are today. Because of this, we are proud of our “Strength in Numbers.”

Parents and Community Members:

I wanted to share a few final thoughts as we wrap up our 2018-2019 school year.

As we wait for our last buses to complete their routes and class inventory sheets to be returned, the official closing of the 2018-2019 school year is very near.  Another school year passes, and a new one already in the making.  Each year brings its challenges and as educators, our work never gets easier.  Worry seems to be so prevalent in our world and in our vocation, and yet we should never forget to celebrate the success of a graduating group of seniors and closing out another school year.  Yes, it is time to breathe and celebrate for good reason, relax, recharge and reset for the upcoming fall.

In education, and many other endeavors, it seems we have to work harder to get beyond the unfortunate negativity that permeates our lives.  In reality, I believe we lose touch with the common ground we all share as human beings.  As parents, students, educators, and community members, despite the differences in our world, we are on the same mission to lead happy, meaningful and productive lives.  As true advocates for children we must strive to find the good in every situation, and we can never allow our spirit to suffer.  A negative mind that criticizes more than creates, will never yield a positive life.  We choose what it is we wish to become, I encourage young people and parents to choose to be positive.

As I speak to graduating seniors and students of all ages, I can’t express enough the importance of staying humble and kind in all situations.  Humility and selflessness should prevail in our words and actions.  Students and even parents won’t remember every conversation they have with educators over the years, but they will remember how they were treated, and the resulting impacts of those conversations.  I am reminded often how fortunate I am to spend my days working and advocating for our youth, knowing they will eventually inherit our world and attempt to leave their mark for future generations.

To our staff members, teachers, coaches and administrators, thank you for your efforts and your positive energy this school year.  To our students, thank you for inspiring us to return to do our work every day each year.  To our school board members, parents and community, a sincere thank you for allowing me to continue to lead this district, I am honored to work for you.

Have an enjoyable summer.  When August comes let’s be ready to share the excitement of yet another year forward.   Good luck to our graduating seniors.  Stay humble and kind, and make good choices.  Our world can be a better place because of you!

Sincerely,
